I can’t even put into words how I feel about the friendship group run by Fern & Kristin. My son has learned so much from his weekly group meetings including how to appropriately engage with his peers and his family members. He has made friends who understand and support him and they work together to learn and be successful. In addition I have personally made life long friends. It is so nice to learn in the parent groups from Fern & Kristin and once those were done us parents had the opportunity to chat amongst ourselves while the kids were in session. We supported each other through stories, laugher and tears. My daughter is not in groups yet but I personally feel ALL kids can benefit from these and plan to sign her up as well. I highly recommend these groups to my peers and feel like as a family we have learned and grown so much.

We have had the privilege of being a part of the friendship group community. Our daughter has a history of social and communication delays and really needed to learn these friendship building skills so that she can communicate, play, and interact more easily with her friends. She has the ability to express herself nicely, although her social skills have always been lagging. Friendship building group has given my daughter the tools to make and keep new friends, both at school and during extracurricular activities. As her mom, I have also learned so many ways to help her use the skills taught to her and we practice these skills daily. The support and education has been phenomenal. I highly recommend friendship building group to everyone!

Friendship group has provided our son with a safe space to interact and make connections with peers. Dr. Schmermund and Dr. Sandler expose him to different social situations and provide him with the tools he needs to be successful at school, camp, and at home. Our son enjoys going to friendship group each week, and we look forward to seeing him continue to progress!
